McAMS Racing Complete Encouraging Test at Donington Park

McAMS Racing and Danny Kent have completed an encouraging two days on track at Donington Park, concluding the second official R&G Test of 2025 in positive style by finishing fourth in the combined times.

Throughout two days on track, Kent and the team followed on from their progress at the Circuito de Navarra, working in harmony with two Yamaha R1 packages and completing a total of 55 laps around the 2.49-mile circuit.

As the test progressed, Kent, aboard the Yamaha R1, found an improved feeling on track, punching in a best lap time of 1:27.527 and was one of only six riders to slot under the 1:27 bracket.

Despite missing a session of track time on Saturday morning due to weather, the family-run squad from Ireland made every lap count, finding a strong direction and experimenting tirelessly to find small margins of progress wherever possible.

Walking away from Donington Park and towards Oulton Park next week, the team’s spirit remains high, with more signs of progress on the near horizon.

Kent felt comfortable in the R1 saddle from the off, continuing to build towards the long-awaited 2025 season opener on the upcoming May Bank Holiday weekend.

Danny Kent

Rider

“It’s been a good test for me and the team at Donington Park. We’ve been running two bikes to make the testing plan run a bit quicker, which has really helped us to progress at a faster rate. All the ideas that the team have come up with during the off-season have been a step forward from 2024, which I’m happy with. I feel great on the bike and positive as we head towards Oulton Park. The team gave me a great bike, and I feel very confident as we head closer to Round 1. Thanks, team!”

Tim Martin

Team Owner

“Overall, the team and I are really happy with the test, even if we lost some track time with the weather. We’re confident that we have a competitive package, ready to take to the track for FP1 on the first round of 2025. Now, Danny and the team have a few days to reset and recharge ready for the final test of the year. I’d like to say a big thanks to the team for all of their hard work over the last two days, great work as usual.”
