McAMS Racing Eager for Final Fight of 2024

McAMS Racing Eager for Final Fight of 2024

After much anticipation, this weekend McAMS Racing and Danny Kent are set to return to on-track action for the final time in 2024, with the Bennetts British Superbike Championship heading Southbound to Brands Hatch for the final round of the year.

After finding confidence at Donington Park last time out, walking away with a best finish of second place having scarcely missed an opportunity for a debut win, the family-run squad look towards the weekend ahead with the aim of capping off a successful year in a positive style.

During their 2024 campaign, the Yamaha R1-powered outfit have stormed to a total of eight podium finishes throughout the course of 10 rounds of battle, completing their most successful year in the Bennetts BSB class to date.

Thanks to the competitive form at Donington Park two weeks ago, Kent and the team lie fourth in the championship standings as three final races of the season remain, feeling ready to fight down to the wire hoping to maintain the position until the end.

The 2.43-mile circuit of Brands Hatch promises to be a strong weekend for the McAMS-backed outfit, whose Yamaha R1 package suits the nature of the Kent-based venue.

The Yamaha R1 has remained undefeated at the circuit earlier in the year with Kent’s R1 counterpart, Ryan Vickers, storming to a trio of dominant top-step finishes.

While the circuit is set to host the closing round of the series yet again, it will also mark a more personal milestone for the former Moto3 World Champion, who, in the opening race of the weekend will start his 100th BSB race.

As the final round approaches, both Kent and the team feel a sense of having unfinished business with Brands Hatch. Despite proving strong during the championship’s inaugural visit to the circuit this season, the squad were presented with a series of misfortune walking away from the weekend with just a single point for the bank.

However, the team’s recent good form which has seen them secure podium finishes in the last two rounds, has given them a shot in the arm ahead of a much-awaited season finale.

The 2024 season closer follows the same weekend format as all the weekends that came before it, with a trio of races awaiting the championship and providing just a small handful of chances to end the year with good sensations.

Last year, the team under the former title of Mar-Train Racing finished their debut year in the championship and sat tenth overall in the series.

Having made significant progress throughout 2024 and with their retained relationship with Kent confirmed earlier in the year, the team are hopeful that another strong season lies ahead.

Danny Kent

Rider

“I’m looking forward to Brands Hatch this weekend, with the hope of having much better luck than what we did earlier in the year. We’ve previously demonstrated real potential at Brands Hatch after qualifying in P2 on the grid, so I’m confident that we’ll be fast throughout the weekend. It’s one of my favourite circuits, so I hope to end the season strong and to thank the team for their hard work during this 2024 season.”

Tim Martin

Team Owner

“We’re heading into the final round of the year sat fourth in the championship. Our plan is to retain that position and end the year with a good set of results. We finished in tenth overall last year so that would be a significant improvement on where we were at the end of last season. Danny had mixed fortunes at out last visit there, so hopefully we can build on top of that and achieve some better results. I’d like to say a huge thanks to McAMS and all our amazing sponsors for their support this year, as well as to the team and hospitality staff for their relentless hard work this year. We’ll head into the weekend with the goal of ending things on a positive note.”
