This weekend, Oulton Park will play host to the ninth round of the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, also marking the first stop of the highly anticipated season Showdown.
With the 2.6-mile rollercoaster circuit awaiting, McAMS Racing and Danny Kent are feeling hopeful for a strong set of results, as the series returns to the Cheshire-based venue for the second time this season.
Also for the second time in 2024, the squad’s title sponsor of McAMS will be the official round sponsor of the Oulton Park race weekend, with the circuit lying just a small distance away from their Lancashire head office.
Kent and the family-run outfit enjoyed a fruitful campaign at the venue earlier in the year, which saw the rider from Tetbury assert his presence at the front and challenge for podiums throughout.
With the season’s ninth race weekend of the year lying just around the corner, both rider and team are eager to get stuck into another 3-day campaign with the ambition of competing at the sharp end and contesting an array of podium finishes.
As the first of three showdown rounds commence, McAMS Racing and Kent lie sixth in the overall championship standings and mathematically, still in contention to fight for the title.
The team’s 2024 season has been a campaign of achievement, with the squad securing several podium finishes and front-row starts to mount their strongest Bennetts BSB season to date.
As the championship continues for another three rounds, Kent and the McAMS-backed outfit remain hungrier than ever to secure their debut victory in the class.
Having shown great potential at Oulton Park in the past, the weekend ahead presents a favourable opportunity to turn that goal into a delightful reality.
The upcoming event at Oulton Park follows on from a challenging yet constructive weekend at Cadwell Park just under three weeks ago.
At a circuit where Kent and the team lack experience, the squad continued along an upward trajectory, leaving the venue with gained confidence and a direction for improvement.
With a few challenging circuits now under their belt, Kent and the team can focus their efforts on the final 3 rounds of the season, where they have previously proved capable of delivering front-running form.
Oulton Park will host a further three races throughout Saturday and Sunday, offering a trio of chances to secure some additional silverware for the 2024 trophy cabinet.
